Metin2 UK Events Postponed, Pending Senior Staff Investigation

As a result of a very large thread on the Metin2 UK board, containing many various allegations against multiple members of the UK Staff, current events have been canceled or pushed back. This includes the OX event that was due to take place yesterday.

Many of the senior staff were accused of power abuse or favoritism. This is something that is accused against most official Metin2 server staff on a daily basis, but in this case the senior staff have temporarily resigned (or taken voluntarily suspension, however you wish to call it), pending an investigation by the CoMa, Azathor ([CM]Eclectic's replacement).

This will also put a hold on the response to game support tickets, as these same staff handle those. Day to day GM duties are handled by the regular GMs who are not affected by this, so that will continue as normal. Nothing so far is concrete. Presumably those staff who do not return may have been found to have not so clean records.

Metin2 SG Tweaks And Fixes Continue

In what's almost become a weekly tradition, more minor alterations have gone live today on Metin2 SG.

Firstly regarding weddings, players can how have the Wedding Planner NPC announce their wedding to all nations. This should mostly lead to larger multi-nation dancing parties in the Love Island map.

Secondly, the Seon-Pyeong NPC (also known as Tyrax) will now allow players to choose a different reward for a Seong-Pyeong quest that they have already completed. This applies to the level 92, 94 and 96 quests (sky gems etc).

There have also been various bugfixes and tweaks for various quests and Demon Tower. Notable ones would be the removal of the list of coordinates that are shown to the player on the 4th floor, giving a clue to the location of the "real" metin. Players will now have to guess which metin to destroy to reach the 5th floor. OX Event functionality has also been restored.

Metin2 SG July 2011 Monarch Election Applications Open

As usual, the next monarch election is about to take place on Metin2 SG, where players from Elgoria, Asmodia and Pandemonia will elect 3 fellow kingdom players to lead their nations through the following month.

Monarchs get a special fancy armor that gives them increased speed and very high defense. They can also summon powerful boss monsters, teleport to players and vice versa, and give stat boosts like HP or defense to all allied players in an area for a short while.

Even More Metin2 SG Bugfixes & Updates, Epic Bell, Ice Arrows

Metin2 SG continues its tradition of frequent little updates, tweaks and bugfixes.

Epic Bell - The Dragon Jaw Bell

Previously unique to Gameforge servers, now SG mages finally have an epic bell of their own. The bell is created in the same way as existing epic weapons, in this case requiring a Heaven And Earth Bell+9, Counterattack Strategy and 2 Blessing Scrolls.

The bell's attack and magic attack values (162-198, 155-165) stay the same from +0 to +9, though the attack speed and demi-human bonuses will increase to 30% and 15% at +9, along with the bell's level requirement starting at 80 for +0 and ending up at 92 for +9.

Ice Arrows

Extra types of arrows have existed in the game for many years, though for whatever odd reason, have never been made available for players. Up until now, archers have had to make do with wooden, bamboo, stone and steel arrows. There are however many extra arrow types, as seen here:

One such type of arrow is Ice Arrows, which are now available for Metin2 SG archers to enjoy. Archers must be level 70 or above to use the arrows, and they come with a comparatively huge +70 attack power bonus. The arrows can now be dropped throughout Heaven's Lair.

Other Updates & Fixes
Rewards have been improved in a number of lower level quests, the drops of level 75 & 80 (Donblow, Junconbetta) metin stones have also been tweaked. These metins have historically been poor farming metins due to their low rewards.

Bugs have also seen fix attempts for the infamous "Demon Tower time bug", as well as the musician duel arena, accessible by talking to the map 2 NPC.

Metin2 SG's Helm Of Champions Reward For Level 99 Players

Shortly after Metin2 SG got its first level 99 player, a new helm is now available as a reward for achieving such a feat.

The feature of offering a special helm to level 99 players was first offered by Metin2 US almost a year ago, and likewise the helms are very similar, as they can have statistics that are normally unachievable on a helmet, namely HP.

Curiously, the helm's Defence stat is advertised as AC, AC being a name for Defence that only Metin2 US uses. Regardless, the 99 Defence boost is still higher than the maximum defence of 89 offered by SG's recently implemented level 60 helmets.

Being the first player to reach level 99, lArguSl will receive the helm, though it may be a bittersweet reward as |ArguS| wishes to sell his account.

Metin2 US July 2011 Monarch Applications Open

As always, it's time for a new wave of Metin2 US players to express their desire for punishment and compete to be the next set of slaves monarchs for their respective nations.

Kings and Queens receive special powers, such as being able to boost nearby players' HP or AC, teleport players around, or summon various boss monsters and also receive a special unique armor, all of which they will be accused of abusing.

More Metin2 SG Bugfixes & Updates, Level 60 Helmets, Possible New Item

Metin2 SG's habit of frequent tweaks and little additions continues, with the next batch now active on the server.

Bugfixes

Bugs have been fixed regarding Expert Mission Books, Ore Vein respawn issues in the Temple and Blue polymorph marbles.

The real damage values are now also displayed for Enchanted Blade and Dragon Roar. These are skills that have been fixed in Metin2 SG to deliver the correct damages. Either that, or Level 1 Wild Dogs really do have around 40% magic resistance.

Updates

Two new quests have been added, a Level 61+ Quest named "The Dark Leader", available from Mr. Soon, and a Level 63+ Quest named "Revenge your countrymen", available to players from the Captain. Unfortunately no other info about these quests is included.

Also new today are Level 60 helmets. These are the lower level half of the new helmets implemented by Gameforge at the start of the year.

Finally, a possible new addition is that of an item named the Red Monocle. The item assists players in the Lin / Biologist / Chaegirab missions, allowing them to submit extra items immediately without having to wait until the next day.

In this regard it functions like an Exorcism scroll does when a player is reading Skill Books. The Metin2 SG staff are currently seeking player's opinions with a poll on whether the item is a good idea or not.
